The two principal officials of the National Assembly, Senate President, Bukola Safari and Speaker of House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, after a closed session meeting with President Buhari have insisted the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris must obey the laws of the land.
This is coming after the IGP failed to appear before the senate after being summoned, but instead sent a subordinate officer to appear in person in his stead.
Both Saraki and Dogara condemned the treatment of Senator Dino Malaye over his treatment by the police. They said the action of the IGP arraigning Dino on wheelchair was uncivilised and barbaric, adding that there was nowhere in the world that people were arraigned in a stretcher even criminals.
It would be recalled that senator Dino Malaye was arrested and arraigned in a wheel chair for unlawful possession of firams in a stretcher by the IGP.
On the 2018 budget, both Saraki and Dogara promised that report would be passed this week.
