Despite English League dismal performance in UEFA and other European football competition, it still retains its top spot as Europe’s financial leader by a very wide margin. With a revenue of £4.5 billion, it is a whopping 86% larger than its closest rival , the Spanish league.
Outside the UK, the success of La Liga’s collective sales approach saw broadcast revenue growth of 20%.
That followed on from 26% growth in the 2015-16 season, has meant collective La Liga revenue grew to a record €2.9bn in 2016-17.
