Efforts are in top gear to secure the presence of the Executive Governor of Enugu state, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi to comission the landmark-water project of Enugu-Ngwo on the 28 of September 2019.
In a letter dated 11 September made available to Lodega Media and addressed to the governor, the John Enwu adminstration intimated the governor of the completion of the water project and readiness for the commissioning of same.
The laudable project embarked on and completed by the John Enwu-led administration of Enugu-Ngwo general assembly is a rare feat of its kind in the community. The project comprised the installation of a borehole in a neighboring village, Ukaka, where a parcel of land was acquired and the laying of water pipes and several overhead water reservoir to ferry water accros all quarters and homes of Enugu-Ngwo. The project embarked on in the 2017/2018 administrative calender finally saw its completion in early 2019.
Lodega had reported sustained efforts at sabotaging the water project before the commissioning few weeks to the October elections in Enugu-Ngwo. Many local observers believe the motive behind the vandalism of the water pipelines was political.
