Nigeria is still a country where soldiers have no law-emforemt responsibilities but are used for police duties without being under the supervision of police. Most of these soldiers have no name tags on their uniforms or have a verifiable means of verification when caught wanting.
It’s common in Nigeria to see soldiers detaining citizens over civil matters or invading police station whenever a melee occurs between a soldier and police.
